After having all sorts of problems with my last web host, I’ve finally decided to switch. Things will probably be a bit messy around here for the next few days as I’ve not only switched web hosts, but I’ve switched from a Windows based scripting language (ASP) + MS SQL Server to WordPress, which runs PHP on Linux and MySQL.
In the process, I’ve learned all sorts of things about what to look for in a web host, things to know before transferring your site, and the logistics of moving to open source – all of which I’ll probably write about once I get this thing up and running again.
For the time being, however, my domain is still propagating, so if you’re seeing this message, you’re viewing the new site. Yes, there are still a couple of issues – like the super insane list of categories. Once my domain stabilizes, I’ll start cleaning things up a bit.
