Google's Threat Intelligence Group issues warning

Friends,

You've heard me speak about and write about the private and secure messaging app called "Signal". I wrote about it, at length, back in Episode #39.

A recent alert from Google has shared that Russian “state-aligned threat actors” — also known as malicious hackers — are targeting the Signals platform and app to gain intelligence regarding their war in the Ukraine.

Signal is an open-source app and platform which makes is far harder to hack. However, ALL code can be hacked, which is why, as exploits are discovered, you can expect those details to leak out globally to other malicious hackers.

Short story: even if you’re not involved with Russia or Ukraine, you’ll want to upgrade any device where you’ve installed Signal.
